What legacy Got to
do with it?
Legacy is when you
leave an inheritance
to your children and
your grand children
“I Chronicles 28.”
Usually, around age
forty the common
thing most began to
think about is when
we are going through
our changes. The
thoughts of saving
for retirement, and
the amount of life
insurance coverage,
and the cost of
medication become
serious topics. We
start to look back
at life to clean it
up a little. The
legacy becomes a
very important issue
with our group. Our
relationship with
our children is at
its worst because of
peer pressure, and
our rules.
As fathers we are
accountable and
responsible for
keeping our families
intact. We must be
steadfast in keeping
with winning our
children back from
this beast. It is
hard to get through
to our young folks
today, because they
are bound for
superstardom,
clothes designers,
big cars, gold, ice
and being bling,
bling and becoming
millionaires. Our
children live the
hip hop, BET, MTV
lifestyle of the
thugs and famous.
These Hip Hop
community thugs,
(they call
themselves) have
more of an influence
over our children
than we do. Parents
don’t give up trying
to win your children
back from the grips
of this beast.
Don’t allow the good
things this beast
appears to do in the
community by giving
these big bashes,
eat all you can eat,
drink all you drink.
Don’t forget it is
covered with
addictions, blood,
death, and prison
sentences of our
children. Let me
give you parents
some encouragement,
you’re not alone;
“Jesus said I will
be with you even
unto the end of the
world.” Don’t
compromise your
integrity with your
children if they are
involved in this
powerful beast
persuasion, continue
the path of
righteousness and
tell them to stop it
in the name of
goodness and mercy.
Many of you are
compromising your
integrity by the
power of the money
beast. Keep the
faith; trust in the
lord, he will
provide for you
according to his
riches and glory.
We must be
remembered as the
group that fought
this beast with
every cell fiber
left within us.
The legacy amongst
our generation
should carry the
same weight as our
ancestors and even
more so today. Our
forefathers were
deathly concern
about our
inheritance of
getting an education
and to rise up.
Many of our
beautiful fathers
and mothers saved up
there pennies and
nickels and dimes to
send us off to
college. They were
leaving to us their
only legacy that
they had. Their
legacy was hope that
we would be educated
and pull up out of
this oppression and
change our future
for the betterment
of their
grandchildren to
live in a life of
freedom. Let’s,
remember the legacy
of our ancestor’s
dreams and
ambitions. They
didn’t lay down
their life for us to
destroy our lives
with drugs and gangs
criminality, nor did
they die for anyone
to imprison us
either by overkill
sentences. All
Christian are
responsible for
allowing this beast
to destroy our
children. It don’t
matter what side of
the track you living
on this beast is in
your house. Rewrite
your legacy with
integrity, and love
for all children
black or white. Take
a look at your
children they are
one race, the hip
hop race, the drug
race, the gang race,
and the suicide
race. “Let’s race to
save them so we will
have a legacy to
leave!” That’s what
legacy has to do
with it.
